Fitness Judging Panels
Official judging panels are comprised of a mixture of experienced and notable people from a variety of sports, fitness and entertainment disciplines. This includes instructors of dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, aerobics, fitness and sports segments.This provides for a balanced perspective in judging competitive fitness talent. No bodybuilders or bodybuilder coaches will be impaneled on our judging panel.
Fitness General Information
The Fitness Atlantic Pageant welcomes all competitors regardless of experience or background. Contestants must be at least 16 years of age and in excellent health. Sound character is essential for a professional fitness pageant. Exhibition of poor sportsmanship will be grounds for automatic disqualification. Jewelry may not be worn during the Fitness Round of the competition but is permitted in the Swimsuit Round. Due to slippage both on and off-stage, no body oil or lotions are allowed. Tennis shoes or athletic shoes must be worn during the Fitness Round and high heels during the Swimsuit Round. Because of the limited dressing rooms and number of contestants at some pageants, no assistants or trainers will be allowed backstage. Our courteous staff will be available at all times to service any special needs.
Fitness Performance Criteria
Fitness Round - 50% of Score
The judges will look for high-energy routines that demonstrate athletic coordination, style, personality and overall performance. Routines may include dance, gymnastics, cheer, aerobic, fitness and/or other displays of exceptional athletic talent. Contestants should demonstrate flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, strength, creativity and showmanship. Only the athletic skills that a contestant has experience should be incorporated. However, there are no required specific athletic or strength moves, i.e., one arm push-ups, straddle-holds, etc.

Costumes will be judged during the Fitness Round, so special attention should be given. No G-string or thong-type costumes may be worn unless athletic apparel or tights are worn underneath, and tennis shoes or athletic shoes must be worn. Props are allowed but must be approved by Pageant officials at least 2 weeks in advance of the performance. Routines must be two minutes or less in length and once begun cannot be repeated. Music must be professionally recorded for maximum performance and audience & judges impression.

Swimsuit Round - 50% of Score
Judges will analyze body shape, tone, symmetry, complexion, poise, presentation and overall condition. Also, they will be looking for fit, toned, feminine figures that display proper conditioning. However, the Fitness America Pageant is not a bodybuilding event. Therefore, extreme physical definition and excessive muscular development will be penalized. Contestants will be judged individually and in group comparisons. Because of television broadcasts, G-string, thong, or high frontal cut style swimsuits are not allowed.

Contestant Prizes
All Fitness Atlantic Pageant contestants will be introduced to the audience during the Finals and receive special gifts, the Top 10 qualify for ESPN Nationals and will perform their fitness routine. The Top 5 placers will receive trophies and roses.
