Fitness Competitor Yenny Polanco

I am originally from the Dominican Republic. I arrived in the United States when I was 12 years old. I did not speak one word of English. It was very difficult for me at first. But I worked hard and eventually became a Cosmetologist, and opened my own business. I also was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion. I've always liked competing and working out. Now I'm a Figure and Fitness Competitor. For people who don't know, it's a softer version of bodybuilding.

I've participated in 17 shows since May 2005. Winning or placing in the top 3 in all of Figure. I made it to Ms Fitness World last year, and am now competing in Fitness Universe in Miami, and Fitness America Pageant this year. I am happy to be part of such great events, to be doing something that is healthy and that inspires others in so many ways.

I am now doing more Fitness, because I like the challenge and I like to entertain the audience. I have bigger dreams and goals. I never stop reinventing myself. I believe that with determination, preparation, and staying focused you can achieve anything your heart desires!!
