Bikini Competitor Christina Borges
1. Why did you start competing or plan to do so?
I've always loved being
in the gym and seeing the results from the training. So I figured why not take
it to another level. I started in 2005 and hooked ever
since!
2. What or who inspired you?
I always looked up to Monica Brant-Peckham. When I was 17
years old I started to subscribe to fitness magazines and once seen Monica on
the cover and said, "one day I want to look like that."
3. The shows you have done or plan to do?
I just started competing in 2005 and only done three competitions
with
USBF and NPC. This year I plan on competing with Fitness Atlantic, USBF, and
NPC.
4. Who helped you get started?
Cathy Savage Fitness, the best figure/fitness out there, along
with Jodi Jones the best nutritionist there is in the industry. They taught me
everything there is to know about competing!
5. Who helps you now?
I develop my own workouts
and diet program. During competition season I go to Cathy Savage Fitness for
posing.
6. Where do you work out?
Excalibur Fitness Brrokyln,
CT
7. What supplements and vitamins do you use?
Mega Woman
Multivitamin, BCAA before and after workouts
8. What results have you achieved?
I have great amounts of energy, lost body fat, developed lean
muscle mass, and feel confident with my body.
9. How has fitness changed your life?
I've always
been athletic, but never competive. I think since I've been competing in figure
I feel more confident and comfortable with my body. I'm not as self conscience
anymore with problem areas, I come to realize no one has the perfect body and it
takes dedication in the gym
and
kitchen. I try my best and here's what I got to show for it.
10. What are your fitness goals?
My goal is to stay fit
and healthy, one day get a pro card in figure, and land a career in fitness
modeling. Well...that's my dream at least.
11. What is your diet like?
8am-Cliff Bar-Oatmeal
Raisin Walnut (post workout) 12pm-Tossed salad with chicken Olive oil and
vinegar 3pm-Fruit/Low fat cottage cheese 6pm-Fish/Chicken, 2 cups green veggie
(broccoli, asparagus, green beans) 3oz sweet potato 9pm-Low carb protein shake

vary excerises. I like to hit the gym 7 days a week, because it makes me feel
good, but if I take a day off I don't beat myself over it.
Sunday-Cardio-abs
13. What is your occupation?
I'm in business management for a franchise tanning salon. I am
currently managing
three
locations, doing the training, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, etc. I love
what I do; and enjoy working with the public meeting new people.
14. What are some other goals in your life?
I one day would love to get married to
George, build a house, travel the world, and start a family.
15. Other sports you have participated in?
I have a great support from family and friends. My mom and dad
was always there for me whenever I needed them, we have a great relationship and
always
encourage
me to follow my dreams. My sister Tara is the best sister anyone could ever
have, she's always been there for me and truely believes in me and everything I
do. My brother John is someone I think about everyday and miss more than
anything. He moved to FL and then to CO the past 4 years and never get to see
him. I would do anything for him to move back home. I love you, John!
George, is truely the love of my life. I know he came into my life for a reason.
He's the most supportive, understanding, loving guy a girl could only dream of
and I have him. I love you more than life itself.
17. Hobbies?
I enjoy shopping, shoes, music, dancing, tanning,
masages, traveling, the beach, reading a good book, playing with Achilles, our
American Bull Terrier, and hanging out with family and
friends.
18. Life challenges?
Sometimes my life can get a little stressful with the
salons. I tend to work 50-70 hours a week and that can tire me. I often fall
into a rut and can't get to the gym sometimes or eat every 2-3 hours, but I have
to keep in mind being in shape takes dedication and self motivation so if I want
a fit body it doesn't come easy and I have to work for it. So I fit my meals and
training in as an appointment and always have my gym bag in meals prepared so no
matter where I am I'm prepared.
